WE SEEK JUSTICE AT EVERY LEVEL
We’re always ready to tirelessly fight for justice — and that includes undoing past inequities within society and within our profession. Hartline Barger wholeheartedly supports DEI initiatives aimed at supporting attorneys from underrepresented groups through our involvement with a number of DEI organizations, sponsorships, and donations.
We’ve made great headway, but there is still much work to do. Among our accomplishments to date:
- Securing Midsize Mansfield Certification, an achievement typically awarded to firms of 25–150 lawyers that have completed a rigorous 18-month collaboration with Diversity Lab to track, measure, and achieve diversity in leadership. This certification measures whether a firm has considered at least 30% lawyers from historically underrepresented groups for leadership and governance roles, equity partner promotions, formal client pitches, and lateral lawyer hiring.
- Ongoing sponsorship of DEI efforts designed to create more opportunities for underrepresented individuals who are interested in becoming attorneys.
- Internal initiatives such as our Summer Associate Program and interaction with several schools with diverse student populations to ensure our Mansfield Rule is applied to all our hires, including at the intern level.
- Participation in local bar DEI organizations that host ongoing luncheons and speaking panels, to meet and mentor underrepresented students.
