Congratulations to Houston partners Peter Blomquist and Ashley Harshaw for securing a unanimous defense verdict in an 8-day jury trial in Harris County. In a case that had been pending for nearly four years, Plaintiff claimed significant injuries, including a traumatic brain injury, as a result of a multivehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer. The HB trial team argued the commercial driver was not a “substantial factor” in causing Plaintiff’s alleged injuries – a standard reinforced by the Texas Supreme Court’s recent Werner decision.
